This healthcare facility is the best kept secret in Fredericksburg. I have been coming here for 12 years. You are a person here and not a number. Dr. Chang and his associates provide patient care that still feels personal. Diana Ortman is knowledgeable and extremely empathetic. She is part of a staff that get to know you so you can feel more comfortable in their care.

I've always found Maghan Burge (FNP-C) to be knowledgeable, as well as kind. I'm happy to recommend her to others. (As an added bonus the Commonwealth Internal Medicine's office staff are efficient and kind as well.)

My wife had an abscess emergency treated on a Sunday at an emergency clinic. They ordered a follow up with our provider the next day. Dr. Chang's office was able to see my wife on Tuesday. We went in and spent 30 minutes in the exam room. The nurse came in and told us their office policy would not permit Dr. Chang to see us until 7 days had passed. They said if we had gone into an emergency room we could not be seen for 7 days. If this was an office policy I would have thought that they would have said so and not scheduled an appt. They did suggest we go to our car and call for a telemedicine conference. I could not under stand how the doctor could assess infection risk and proper follow-up from a teleconference but we were told we would have to leave. My wife loves Dr. Chang, but I must say this is a risky office policy and needs review.

Maghan Burge is a thoughtful dedicated and thorough nurse practitioner. She explains the questions asked in a knowledgeable and clear way. She’s very patient in attending to Leon and her manner is never irritated or annoyed by his questions. I will highly recommend her to my family and friends.
